Our Team
Since its start, EBMA has been moving ahead on its DEIA journey. Women and LGBTQIA+ members comprise the entirety of our leadership. Our programs support people of color, families of children under 2, formerly incarcerated people, homeless people, transitional housing, and LGBTQIA+. Our members represent our extremely diverse community: Latinx, Caribbean, African, Black, Asian, Russian, and Polish.
Our Executive Director
Kelvin Taitt
Co-Founder, East Brooklyn Mutual Aid, Inc.
Kelvin Taitt is a social entrepreneur and community organizer from Brooklyn, and the co-founder of East Brooklyn Mutual Aid(EMBA), which he helped to launch in April 2020. Kelvin was also the Director of Strategic Growth and Operations at The Corbin Hill Food Project, a New York City nonprofit dedicated to disturbing local, farm fresh food, to low-income communities and communities of color. Previously, Kelvin built out an infrastructure that delivers farm fresh produce to households on a weekly basis. Kelvin has an extensive background in operations and Logistic management from his time in big box consumer retail and as an entertainment producer, tour and logistics manager.
